Grandstream IP Phones, UCM PBX and Communications in Oman

Grandstream's UCM PBX carries no per-user licence fee. For a fifty-seat office in Muscat, that one fact usually settles the tender.

UCM6300 PBX Series GRP26xx IP Phones DECT & Wi-Fi Handsets Provisioning Included

Most competing IP telephony platforms charge per extension, per year, indefinitely. Grandstream does not — you buy the PBX hardware once and add users up to the platform's rated capacity. Across a five-year horizon on a mid-sized deployment the gap is substantial, and it grows every time you add a desk.

Elite Infotech supplies the Grandstream range across Oman: IP phones, PBX systems, DECT and Wi-Fi handsets, door intercoms and conferencing. We quote against real SIP trunk arrangements with Omantel and Ooredoo rather than in the abstract.

Grandstream prices in Oman

Most deployments are quoted as a project rather than line by line. The table gives you the shape of it.

What a VoIP system costs for a fifty-seat office in Oman

Three components determine the figure: the PBX, the handsets, and the commissioning.

Handsets are usually the largest line by quantity, and most offices need only a handful of higher-specification units at reception and for managers — the rest can run entry models without anyone noticing. The PBX is a single purchase sized to user count and concurrent calls.

What is not in the figure, and what competitors quoting you will often leave out, is the recurring licence cost. With Grandstream there is not one. Ask whoever else is quoting what their per-extension annual fee looks like in year three.

UCM series — the PBX

The UCM6300 series is the platform most Oman deployments are built on. UCM6301 and 6302 cover small and mid-sized offices; 6304 and 6308 handle larger user counts and higher concurrent call volumes across multiple sites.

Everything is SIP-standard, which means it interoperates with Omantel and Ooredoo SIP trunks and with third-party handsets you may already own. It also means you are not locked to a single vendor for the next decade — worth more than it appears at the point of purchase.

Call recording, IVR, voicemail, conferencing and call queues come with the platform rather than as paid modules.

Handsets — desk, Wi-Fi and DECT

The GRP series covers desk phones from basic two-line extensions to multi-line operator consoles with expansion modules.

WP series Wi-Fi handsets suit staff who move — warehouse supervisors, hotel housekeeping, facilities teams. They connect over the existing wireless network rather than needing DECT infrastructure, which only works if the wireless coverage is genuinely good. Where it is patchy, DECT is the more reliable answer.

DP series DECT covers larger sites wanting dedicated cordless coverage independent of the data network. On industrial sites we specify DECT more often than Wi-Fi handsets, because a dropped call in a warehouse is a real operational problem and Wi-Fi roaming across a large steel structure is harder than it looks.

Door intercom and access

The GDS3710 and GDS3705 are IP door intercoms with integrated access control — video, two-way audio, card reader and door release, all over the network, all integrating with the UCM so a door call rings the reception handset.

This is where Grandstream meets our security business. On projects where we are already installing Dahua access control and CCTV, the door intercom often makes more sense on Grandstream because it ties directly into the telephony system the client is buying anyway.

Where these systems go in Oman

  • Hotels and resorts — Muscat and the Salalah resort corridor. Room phones, staff handsets, front desk integration.
  • Offices and corporate headquarters — multi-extension deployments with SIP trunking.
  • Contact centres — queues, recording and reporting included with the platform.
  • Schools and campuses — classroom phones, paging over GSC speakers, door intercom at controlled entrances.
  • Warehouses and industrial sites — DECT or Wi-Fi handsets with SIP paging across the floor.
Frequently Asked Questions

Grandstream — Quick Answers

Does Grandstream charge per-user licence fees?
No. The UCM platform does not carry per-extension licensing — you buy the hardware and add users up to its rated capacity. This is the main cost difference against competing vendors and it compounds every year the system runs.
How much does a Grandstream phone system cost in Oman?
It depends on seat count, handset mix and whether you need DECT or Wi-Fi handsets alongside desk phones. Most deployments are quoted as a project. Send us your seat count and site type and we will come back with a figure.
Will Grandstream work with Omantel or Ooredoo SIP trunks?
Yes. The platform is SIP-standard and interoperates with both. We configure trunk registration as part of commissioning rather than leaving it to you to work out.
Can I keep my existing phone numbers?
In most cases yes, through your service provider. Number portability is handled with Omantel or Ooredoo directly; we coordinate the technical side so the cutover happens cleanly.
How many users can a UCM system support?
It depends on the model — UCM6301 and 6302 suit small and mid-sized offices, 6304 and 6308 handle larger counts and higher concurrency. Tell us your seat count and expected concurrent calls.
Do you install and configure or only supply hardware?
Both. Our engineering team handles system design, configuration and commissioning. On a VoIP deployment the configuration is most of the work — the hardware is the straightforward part.
