Hard disk and SSD prices in Oman
Prices move with capacity, drive class and stock. The table below gives you the working range so you know roughly what you are looking at before you contact us.
How much does a 1TB hard disk cost?
For a standard desktop drive, 1TB is now the entry capacity and among the cheapest storage you can buy. A 1TB surveillance drive costs noticeably more for the same capacity, because the firmware, the workload rating and the warranty are all different. If you are pricing 1TB and the quotes you are getting vary widely, the likely explanation is that you are being quoted different drive classes.
Why the same capacity has three different prices
Workload rating is the figure that explains most of the gap, and almost nobody selling storage in Oman mentions it.
It measures how much data a drive is designed to write per year. A desktop drive is rated at roughly 55TB annually. A surveillance drive is rated at around 180TB. An AI-capable surveillance drive reaches 550TB. You are not paying for capacity — you are paying for endurance.
A sixteen-camera system recording continuously writes far past what a desktop drive was built to handle. It will work at first. That is what makes it a difficult problem to spot.

Which drive belongs in your system
If you take one thing from this page, take this.
- CCTV recorder or NVR — a surveillance drive. Seagate SkyHawk, WD Purple or Toshiba S300. Never a desktop drive.
- Multi-bay NAS — a NAS drive with vibration tolerance. IronWolf, WD Red Plus or Toshiba N300. Avoid SMR drives in any RAID array.
- Server — an enterprise drive. Exos, WD Gold or Toshiba MG.
- Laptop or desktop upgrade — an SSD, almost always. Check whether the machine takes M.2 NVMe or only 2.5-inch SATA before ordering.
- Field work and backup — a portable SSD. Look for an IP rating if it leaves an office.
Buying storage in Oman without getting caught out
The grey market here is active, and it costs people money in ways that only surface later.
Product brought in outside authorised channels arrives with no regional warranty. When it fails, you are shipping it back to wherever it was bought, at your cost, or you are simply absorbing the loss. Counterfeit memory cards are a separate and worse problem — a fake card reports its advertised capacity to your device, writes correctly for the first twenty or thirty gigabytes, then silently discards everything after that.
Everything we supply comes through authorised distribution: original packaging, intact serial numbers, warranty claimable in Oman.
Trade, project and reseller supply
A large share of what we do is supplying other businesses rather than end users.
We supply system integrators, IT resellers, security installers and corporate procurement teams across Oman at trade and project pricing — storage for multi-site CCTV rollouts, networking hardware for campus and hospitality deployments, volume supply for staff hardware refreshes.
Our engineering team handles the part that determines whether a deployment works: site surveys, system architecture, and storage sizing against actual camera counts and retention requirements. Send us a bill of materials or a site brief and we will come back with pricing and lead times.
