Business Routers and Gateways in Oman
Cloud-managed office gateways sized from 100 to 700 concurrent users, with VPN and integrated PoE options.
- Up to 700 clients
- Up to 3 Gbps
- Up to 300 VPN tunnels
- Cloud managed
How do I size a business router?
Count devices, not staff. Every laptop, phone, camera, access point and printer holds a session. A 100-person office in Oman frequently runs 250 or more connected devices — specify the gateway against that count, with room to grow.
Throughput gets the attention because it is the bigger number. Concurrent client count is the specification that decides whether an office network feels fast or feels broken. A gateway rated for 100 users on a site with 180 devices will hold sessions open, drop VPN tunnels and slow down at exactly the times everyone is working, regardless of how much bandwidth the ISP line can carry.
Elite Infotech supplies the Ruijie EG range across Oman for offices, retail, hospitality and multi-site VPN between Muscat, Sohar and Salalah. The EG series runs from about 100 clients and 600 Mbps-class throughput up to 700 clients and 3 Gbps, with PoE variants that can power a handful of access points directly.
- Size by connected devices, not headcount.
- P-suffix models have PoE outputs for small sites; larger jobs still need a dedicated PoE switch.
- This is a B2B business-router range — not a home Wi-Fi router page.
Cloud-managed gateways from 100 to 700 clients
Both 105 and 210 models carry 32 MB of flash and sit in the 600 Mbps class, differing mainly in port count, PoE outputs and supported user numbers.
| Model | Ports | Clients | Throughput | VPN tunnels | PoE |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RG-EG105G-P-V3 | 5 Gigabit | Up to 100 | 600 Mbps class | — | 4 x PoE+ |
| RG-EG210G-P-V3 | 10 Gigabit | Up to 200 | 600 Mbps class | — | 8 x PoE+ |
| RG-EG310GH-E | 10 | Up to 350 | 1.5 Gbps | 64 | No |
| RG-EG310GH-P-E | 10 | Up to 350 | 1.5 Gbps | 64 | 8 outputs |
| RG-EG406XS | 6 | Up to 400 | 2.5 Gbps | 100 IPsec | No |
| RG-EG406XS-P | 6 | Up to 400 | 2.5 Gbps | 100 IPsec | 4 PoE |
| RG-EG710XS | 10 | Up to 700 | 3 Gbps | 300 | No |
A Wi-Fi gateway variant is available and specified at quotation. Home Wi-Fi routers are not listed here — this page is B2B only.
Choosing a gateway
The PoE variants are worth a closer look on small sites. A gateway with four or eight PoE+ outputs can power the access points directly and take a switch off the quotation.
| Site profile | Specify | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Small office, under 100 devices, few APs | RG-EG105G-P-V3 | Four PoE+ outputs power the access points directly — no separate switch needed |
| Office of 100 to 200 devices | RG-EG210G-P-V3 | Eight PoE+ outputs, doubles the supported client count |
| Growing business, 200 to 350 devices | RG-EG310GH-E or P | 1.5 Gbps and 64 VPN tunnels for branch connectivity |
| Multi-site business needing many tunnels | RG-EG406XS or P | 100 IPsec tunnels at 2.5 Gbps in a compact 6-port unit |
| Large site or campus, up to 700 devices | RG-EG710XS | 3 Gbps and 300 tunnels — the top of the range |
When you still need a dedicated switch
On larger deployments the gateway PoE outputs are not a substitute for a PoE switch. Use the P variants to collapse a small office; specify a switch once camera count or AP count outruns those ports.
Where these fit in Oman
- Single-site offices replacing an ISP-supplied router with something manageable
- Multi-branch businesses needing site-to-site VPN between Muscat, Sohar and Salalah
- Retail chains with centralised management across stores
- Hotels and serviced accommodation with guest and staff network separation
- Sites where the gateway also powers the access points — the PoE variants
Frequently asked questions
How do I know what size gateway I need?
Count devices, not staff. Every laptop, phone, camera, access point and printer holds a session. A 100-person office frequently runs 250 or more connected devices. Specify against the device count with room to grow.
What is a cloud-managed router?
A gateway configured and monitored through a web or app interface rather than by connecting to it locally. For a business with multiple sites it means one console for all of them, and it means a supplier can assist remotely without a site visit.
Do I need VPN tunnels?
If you have more than one location that needs to share systems or files privately, yes. The EG range runs from 64 tunnels on the 310 series up to 300 on the EG710XS. Count the sites and remote workers who need access.
Can the router power my access points?
The P variants can. RG-EG105G-P-V3 has four PoE+ outputs and RG-EG210G-P-V3 has eight. On a small site this can replace a separate switch. On larger deployments you will still want a dedicated PoE switch.
Is this suitable for a home or small shop?
The EG range is built for business use. We supply on a B2B basis to integrators, resellers and businesses rather than to consumers.
Get Your Gateway Sized Correctly
Send your device count, number of sites and whether you need VPN between them. We specify the gateway and tell you whether it can power your access points directly.
