Wireless Bridges in Oman

Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint links from 500 m to 5 km. Connect a gatehouse, warehouse or perimeter camera without trenching a cable.

  • 500 m to 5 km
  • IP54 and IP55
  • Up to 867 Mbps
  • PTP and PTMP

Direct answer

How far can a wireless bridge reach?

The Reyee EST range covers 500 m, 1 km and 5 km depending on model. Those figures assume a clear line of sight. Buildings, trees and low mounting height all cut real-world range.

Trenching fibre across a yard costs more than the network equipment at both ends of it. That single fact decides a large number of Oman projects: a camera on a perimeter fence, a gatehouse two hundred metres from the main building, a warehouse across a compound. The hardware is cheap and the civil works are not, particularly where the route crosses a road or a paved yard.

A wireless bridge replaces that trench with two units and a clear line of sight. Elite Infotech supplies the Reyee EST range across Oman. The EST310 V2 has a Fast Ethernet port, not gigabit — for several cameras at the far end specify the EST350G.

  • 500 m (EST100-E), 1 km (EST310 V2), 5 km (EST350G) — line of sight required.
  • IP54 / IP55; ambient ratings 55–60 °C, not the inside of a sealed box in July sun.
  • EST310 V2 and EST350G both do point-to-multipoint.
The EST Range

Three models, 500 m to 5 km

The EST100-E ships as a pair, pre-paired out of the box. The EST350G carries a 16 dBi antenna and accepts 12 V DC, passive PoE or 802.3af/at power.

Model Range Band Speed Ports IP rating Temperature
RG-EST100-E Up to 500 m 2.4 GHz Dual-stream IP55 −30 to +60°C
RG-EST310 V2 Up to 1 km 5 GHz Up to 867 Mbps 1 x Fast Ethernet IP54 −30 to +55°C
RG-EST350G Up to 5 km 5 GHz Up to 867 Mbps 3 x Gigabit IP55

The Fast Ethernet detail that produces complaints

The EST310 V2 has a single Fast Ethernet port, not gigabit. For a single 4MP camera that is adequate. For several cameras at the far end, or anything needing more than 100 Mbps, specify the EST350G. Its three gigabit ports mean it can feed several devices at the far end rather than just one.

RG-EST100-E

Pre-paired pair for gatehouses and outbuildings under 500 m. Quickest to deploy.

RG-EST310 V2

Up to 1 km on 5 GHz. Watch the Fast Ethernet port — it caps the far-end throughput at 100 Mbps.

Reyee RG-EST310 V2 wireless bridge

RG-EST350G

Up to 5 km, three gigabit ports, 16 dBi, flexible power. The model for several cameras at the far end.

What It Needs

What a wireless bridge needs to work

Line of sight, primarily. These are not devices that work through buildings, and a link that works in winter can degrade when a tree grows into the path or a new structure goes up.

Two practical points for Oman deployments. Mounting height matters more than advertised range — a 5 km link needs both ends high enough to clear everything between them, and the quoted range assumes an unobstructed path. And the temperature ratings on these units top out at 55 to 60 degrees, which is the ambient air temperature rather than the temperature of a dark enclosure in direct July sun. Mount with that in mind.

Right Fit

Where these are used in Oman

  • Perimeter cameras on industrial sites and compounds where trenching is impractical
  • Gatehouses and security posts detached from the main building
  • Warehouse and yard buildings across a compound
  • Construction sites needing temporary connectivity that moves with the project
  • Farm and remote installations well outside a wired network
  • Backup links where a fibre run exists but redundancy is wanted

Cameras at the far end are usually Dahua IP cameras, powered by a small PoE switch on the EST350G’s gigabit ports.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How far can a wireless bridge reach?

The EST range covers 500 m, 1 km and 5 km depending on model. Those figures assume clear line of sight between both units. Obstructions, mounting height and weather all reduce real-world range.

Do I need line of sight?

Yes. These links do not pass usefully through buildings or dense vegetation. Survey the path before committing, and check whether anything is likely to be built or grow into it.

Can I run cameras over a wireless bridge?

Yes, and it is the most common use we supply them for. Check throughput against your camera bitrate — the EST310 V2 has a Fast Ethernet port capped at 100 Mbps, so for multiple cameras at the far end specify the EST350G with its gigabit ports.

Do these handle Omani summer conditions?

They are rated to 55 or 60 degrees ambient depending on model, with IP54 and IP55 sealing. Mount out of direct prolonged sun where you can, and remember the rating refers to air temperature rather than the inside of a sealed enclosure.

Can one bridge serve several remote points?

Yes. Both the EST310 V2 and EST350G support point-to-multipoint, so a single base unit can link several remote positions.
